About Me

Hello and Welcome!

My professional experience includes working several years as a freelance writer, editor and marketing consultant. Today, I work as a Digital Copy Editor, reading and critiquing words all day long! :) Over the years, I have helped others with creating fresh and engaging content and I have used my own skills and experience as a writer to reach others through the power of the written word.

In addition to my skills as a professional writer, I am also a fiction writer. Currently, I am working on my first full-length novel, and am seeking representation. I am also creating a compilation of poetry as a side project as well. One of my short stories "Swing High Miami" was published in the BudzusHammer Literary and Art Magazine, after winning their summer writing contest. For me, the written word is a form of art and there is no end to the magical ways it can touch another person, near or far.

I graduated Cum Laude from Florida State University with a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature. While at FSU, I interned as an assistant editor for the Southeast Review literary journal. I enjoy combining my 10+ years of professional experience and deeply rooted passion for writing, to pursue a career as an accomplished author. My drive to succeed is fueled by my favorite quote, written by Hart Crane:

“One must be drenched in words, literally soaked in them, to have the right ones form themselves into the proper pattern at the right moment.”

Writing may be my beloved passion but happiness through the power of positive thought is the greatest part of my purpose. I write to reach others and make an impact in their lives. I also constantly strive to find ways to evoke the powerful mantra of "mind over matter" and the power of positive thinking.  I'm also fortunate to have the endless positive support of my husband Brian and our beautiful ten-year old daughter Amber. Our Chihuahua Dixie helps too! In the end, if my words, be them creative, informative, fiction, non-fiction or inspirational, manage to reach and help one soul out there, I consider my work a success.

Our Sweet Little Family :)
